Denis Villeneuve's celebrated Dune saga is set to reach its long-awaited finale with Dune: Part Three, arriving in theaters worldwide on December 18, 2026. After the massive critical and commercial success of Dune

The Story: Adapting Dune Messiah
Unlike the first two films, which were based on Frank Herbert's original 1965 novel Dune, this installment draws from his 1969 sequel Dune Messiah. The story picks up roughly a dozen years after the events of part Two finding Paul Atreides no longer a rebel fighting for survival but the Emperor of the known universe — and the messianic figure Muad'Dib to the Fremen who once sheltered him.
